Security status says nothing about danger. It sets how strong the rats are and what they drop. Who is out where right now is not in the SDE and belongs in SMT or RIFT.
“by sov” is the only view on this page that does not come from the SDE: which alliance holds a system changes daily. The site fetches it from ESI on every build, at least once a day, and states when. Your browser does not talk to CCP.
Activity is the figures CCP publishes per system and DOTLAN also shows: NPC kills and traffic (jumps through the system) over the last 24 hours, ship kills over the last 7 days — totals, no names, one hour delayed. Many NPC kills means: someone is already ratting there.“Trend 7 d” compares the last seven full days with the seven before. The column fills only once 14 full days are collected, and stays empty for systems with fewer than 50 kills.
“from home” counts jumps through NullSec. Routes through Low- or HighSec and Jump Bridges are not included.
“7 LY” are the jump targets of a Carrier, Dreadnought or Force Auxiliary — Low- and NullSec in a straight line, without jump fatigue and without fuel.
